Craft Hoarders Anonymous and Deconstructed Sketch = another SNEAK PEAK!
We've actually had a few days where we might have needed at least the umbrella from this card! But here in Arizona, not much need of the boots and raincoat. I really liked the sketch for this card, and was able to incorporate a lot of elements onto the card.
While the stamp set is one of the new ones from the CTMH Annual Inspirations Catalog that I will be sharing at my Open House on Friday and Saturday, there are a few elements that are from my huge stash - thus it qualifies for the Craft Hoarders Anonymous challenge (don't you love that name?). Craft Hoarders was all about embossing this week, so the background dot folder works. But the cardstock for the base of the card is something I bought on clearance from SU years ago - and I liked the color so much, I think I bought about 6 packs of it! So still trying to use that up.
You can see some evidence of my other "stash" item on this card - the little raindrops. That's from the CTMH Liquid Glass - and a bottle of that goes a really long way - so it's been around for a while. But I liked the added extra it provides.
There's one new tool that was used on this card - can you spot what it is? If you are coming to my Open House and you guess what it is, you can get an extra ticket for the door prize drawing.
The last thing I want to say about this card is the technique for creating the cloud and "sky" strip. I wanted these elements to look like a rainy day, so I used my acrylic block (no stamp on it), inked it up, then spritzed it with water - a LOT of water - and then stamped it down on the paper. The water and ink pool in areas and disappear from others, giving the effect I wanted. Kind of an extension of the watercolor technique we did in Stamp Club last year with the poppies and fall wreath.
Head over to these blogs to check out the other cards made for these two challenges:

Darling card!! Love, love, love the layering and that single raindrop! Even the placement of the elements reminds me of falling rain. . .which is actually happening right here in southwestern AZ at the moment. (I'll bet you had your rain boots out this week, but probably not your umbrella!!) Thanks for showing us that "you're the boss," and joining us for our most recent challenge at Craft Hoarders Anonymous!

This is so adorable! I love it! I live in So. CA and we don't have much use for rain gear or winter gear either. But I still love to buy stamps and dies for those items. LOL Thanks for playing along with us a Craft Hoarders Anonymous!
