SCRAPBOOK WORKSHOP - FALL AND CHRISTMAS LAYOUTS

The last scrapbook workshop for 2015 is just around the corner.  Tuesday, November 17 is the date, and the layouts we are doing are below.
This layout uses the beautiful Sangria papers, and features a vertical photo on the left page.  You can use a 4X6, 5X7 or even an 8X10 for that photo.  The layout of photos on the right is only an example - you are free to place your photos in whatever arrangement works for you.

This Christmas layout uses the White Pines papers and with some Cricut cuts and stamps from the White Pines Workshop on the Go scrapbooking kit.  The layout as shown uses 3 - 4X6 photos and 3 - 3X4 photos.  The journaling block can be replaced with another 3X4 photo if desired.

Both of these layouts are included in the basic workshop, and the cost is $20.

I am also offering an additional layout for those who wish to purchase it.  Also using the White Pines paper, the layout below can be done as a Christmas layout (as shown), or you can use stamped winter scenes, like a snowflake and snowman, in place of the Christmas images.  You can decide.  All materials are included for this layout, including the shimmer trim.  Cost to add this layout to the workshop is $10.

Email me at scrappingailaz@gmail.com if you are interested.
If you can't make it to my house for the workshop, kits are available,
either to pick up locally or they can be mailed.  Email me about that as well.

Planners Gonna Plan: The Everyday Life™ Planner System from CTMH

I am so excited about the new planner that CTMH is introducing. This video gives you SOOO much  information about it - including ways that the binder can be used for photos and scrapping! You can get a bundle for the planner, or you can buy individual components of the set. It is very versatile! CTMH will have these in stock later this month and they will be available to purchase at that time. If you want to bundle the planner components, you can purchase them a reduced price through the end of December.

Interested in more information?  Send me an email at scrappingailaz@gmail.com. I will answer your questions and notify you when this is available.

OCTOBER STAMP CLUB

We will be working on a combination of fall and Christmas items during our October Stamp Club.  There are two cards featuring the Sangria paper pack. The pinwheel card above is a lot easier than some people think—so find out the trick!
The card above is “Clean & Simple” and uses both our new poppy twine and the mini stapler.
We will use the Base and Bling pendants, designed to be used for necklaces, and attach them on top of paper rosettes.  These can be used either as an ornament or a gift topper.  I attached the pendant to the rosette with glue dots, so they can be removed easily and actually attached to a chain and be a lovely necklace, a key chain, or even a magnet!
If you weren’t in class in September, please let me know if you want a gold or silver pendant.
Charms will be available to purchase at my cost.
Our final project will use our Designer Creations Paper Bags and the October Stamp of the Month—Twinkle!  These bags are so versatile - they actually fit an A2 card, so they make great little gift bags for any occasion.  Ours will be for Christmas - complete with a shimmery clothespin to keep it closed!
Notice the dates - Rick has some time off so I made some adjustments!
DATES:
Monday, Oct 5
Tuesday, Oct 6
Thursday, Oct 15
Saturday, Oct 17

Cost = $20 and includes the materials to complete all 4 projects

Email to register—scrappingailaz@gmail.com
If you plan to attend the Monday or Tuesday class, please let me know
as soon as possible as I leave on 9/26 to visit my mom & won’t return until 10/3!

CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN BOOK

During the last week of October, I will hold several workshops featuring this Countdown to Christmas book.  Many people were interested in making it when they saw it at the Open House in August.  Take a look at the details and see if you would like to join one of the workshop dates.

The book is made using CTMH’s Mini Mix Album.  This spiral-bound album contains 12 pages made of a variety of papers - velum, kraft and white cardstock.  All pages measure 4” X 4”.

I have used the White Pines Christmas papers to create the cover and pockets for each page.
NOTE: This book does not close flat!

You can see in the photos that each of the pages has a pull-out tag.   You will create the designs on these tags so you can use them as you wish—add a photo, use them to journal what you did that day, or use them like an Advent calendar and write activities that you or your family will do on that day.  This book can be used in another year by just changing out the tags, which will be easy to cut from cardstock.

Dates are:
Tuesday, October 27
Saturday, October 31

Cost of the workshop is $20 - includes all of the paper supplies, twine & shimmer trim to complete the book.
All the papers will be cut & ready for you to assemble.
Cost of additional supplies is $20.85 (if you place a $50 order) + shipping & tax.  The specifics of what needs to be ordered, and other supplies you will need on class day are listed below.

Email me to register:
scrappingailaz@gmail.com
Confirmed registration is a commitment to purchase the kit if unable to attend the workshop

Notice the embellishments on each page—these are the items you will be purchasing to complete the project as shown.

SUPPLIES NEEDED -
See photos of how the products are used on the project

These items need to be ordered no later than Oct 14 for the Tuesday class and Oct 19 for the Saturday class.
· Z3069 - Mini Mix Album - $6.95
· X7200C - White Pines Complements (the little stickers used) - $5.95
· Z1752 - Clear Sparkles - $2.95
· S1510 - October Stamp of the Month “Twinkle” - for all the label frames and “December” - only $5.00 with a  $50 purchase, regularly $17.95.  If you don’t have a $50 order, we may be able to combine 2 orders and get one stamp set at full price and one stamp set at the reduced price, and split the difference for those ordering.

Additional supplies for completing the workshop:
· Tape adhesive
· Small glue dots
· Blocks for “label frame” and “December” stamps from S1510
· Score board (I have 3 if you need to borrow one - just let me know when you register)
· Punch for creating the “notch” on the paper pockets on each page.  A 1” circle punch will work, or a thumb-notch punch will work (I used the thumb-notch punch).  CTMH sells both of these if you do not have one.   Both sell for $9.95 and are found on page 149 of the current Annual Inspiration Catalog.
                                    Z1999 - 1” Circle Punch    - or -    Z3131 - Thumb Notch Punch
· If you have a set of 3/4” numbers to use for stamping the dates, that would be good.  I used “In Review” C1622 on page 59.  If you did the box/drawer Advent Calendar a few years ago, the numbers are the same ones used in that workshop.  Any alphabet set that is approximately 3/4” will work.
· I have 3 stamp pads of each of the colors we will be using, but if you have Glacier, Cranberry, Fern, Chocolate or Champagne, bring them with you - or any ink that is similar.
· If you want holes in your tags for the twine, a Crop-O-Dile punch works well, or a regular hole punch can work as well.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  Hope you can join us!

JUST US GIRLS CHALLENGE #308 with a BOKEH TECHNIQUE!

I have seen so many cards using pigment ink to create Bokeh technique cards.  I also found that you can use your regular dye inks and the end of a pencil (the eraser) to get the Bokeh effect (thanks to the tutorial at splitcoaststampers.com).   I used the sketch from the Just Us Girls Challenge Blog for this card.

CTMH also just came out with a new embossing folder - Confetti - that coordinates so well with the Bokeh effect on this card.  (I prefer to call the folder "cascading dots", so have to be sure I share with you the real name!)
Here's a list of the materials I used to create this card.  All are from Close to My Heart.  If you are interested in any of the product I used, check out my CTMH website.
Stamps:
D1627 - Your Own Kind of Wonderful - butterfly
CC1040 - Hello Life - Scrapbooking - sentiment (special for National Stamping Month)
Inks and Papers:
Z2640 - Thistle ink
Z2117 - Crystal Blue ink
X5769 - Thistle cardstock
1292 - Crystal Blue cardstock
1385 - White Daisy cardstock
Balloon Ride patterned paper (retired)
Other:
Z3118 - Confetti 5X7 Embossing Folder
Z2060 - Thin 3-D Foam Tape
Z1912 - Corner Rounder

Thanks for taking a look!

BETWEEN THE FOLDS CHALLENGE #5 - Add "SHINE"

There's a new challenge blog that focuses on CTMH products.  Since there are so many new products that are available starting today, I thought I'd showcase several of them and enter into this week's challenge.  While the challenge says to add bling, sparkle, or shine, I've just added some shine.  And it comes in the form of the new FOIL TAPE!  I love this stuff.  It is so easy to apply - and it lifts up easily if you don't get it placed exactly where you want it to be, and you know how often that happens :).  I've used the silver, but it also comes in gold.

Once I had the silver foil tape down, I wanted to use more shiny silver, but didn't have any foil paper.  BUT, I did have foil!  So I cut my cardstock to the size I wanted to mat my large flower, then wrapped the foil around it, taping it on the back side.  The foil wrap gave some extra dimension to this piece, so I just taped it onto the card base, then popped up my double-mounted smaller floral image.  By the way, the images are from the September Stamp of the Month - Paper Garden - yours for only $5 with a qualifying purchase.

Here's a list of what I used on the card (everything - except the kitchen foil - is from CTMH):
STAMPS:
S1509 - Paper Garden September Stamp of the Month - floral images
C1632 - Say It All - Hostess Rewards Stamp Set - sentiment
INKS & PAPERS:
Z2641 - Glacier blue ink
Z2640 - Thistle ink
X5769 - Thistle cardstock
X5770 - Glacier blue cardstock
1385 - White Daisy cardstock
OTHER:
Z3130 - Silver Foil Tape
Z2060 - Thin 3-D Foam Tape
kitchen foil

Check out the Between the Folds Challenge Blog for other shiny, sparkly projects this week!  And if you are interested in any of these products, pop over to my CTMH website and see what we have to offer.

Thanks for stopping by.
