The Great Outdoors Challenge at Heart 2 Heart

I haven't participated in a Heart 2 Heart Challenge in a while, but this one was perfect for me.
I made this 12 X 12 display board for a friend's birthday, and it was one of the projects I displayed at the recent CTMH Consultant Creativity Showcase.

I was inspired by a posting on Pinterest, but the blog I was directed to had no directions.  Since the design was similar to a tri-shutter card, I created my own cutting measurements and printed most of the photos as wallets.

I used the Timberline Paper (which is retiring at the end of July) and the accompanying Timberline Stickease (sorry, they are already sold out).

The little embellishments are the Triangle Durable Studs.
Cardstock colors are Barn Red, Ponderosa Pine, Goldrush, Lagoon, Chocolate, Outdoor Denim, Slate and Whisper.

I will be re-creating this projects with several of the new paper packs that CTMH revealed at convention and will offer this as a project workshop in the fall.  Stay tuned if you are interested in coming for the workshop or purchasing a kit for it.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #222, Paper Players #199 and Pals Paper Arts #207

This card was created with three different challenges in mind.  The sketch came from Sweet Sunday Sketches.  The color combination was presented in two different challenges this week - Paper Players and Pals Paper Arts.  And the colors were perfect because the graduate was from the University of Arizona, which has the red and blue colors!  So how could I go wrong?  I am a little late in sending the well wishes, but at least it will make it to him before he embarks on his next adventure.

Here's list of the materials I used to create this card.  All are CTMH unless stated otherwise.

Stamps:
Art Philosophy Cricut Bundle Stamp - Congratulations image
Artiste Cricut Collection - Kudos - Sunburst medallion
Congrats Graduate - Graduate image and hat
Reel Life - chevron shape
All the Details - inside sentiment
Papers:
Pacifica and Colonial White cardstock
Inks:
Pacifica and Cranberry
Other:
Chevron 5X7 embossing folder
Cricut CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge
Cricut CTMH Artiste cartridge

Freshly Made Sketches #139

My son is celebrating his birthday on Saturday, and I wanted a special card for him.  He recently returned from Vienna and Prague where his University of Arizona choir performed.  Back in Tucson, he has an engineering internship for the summer, and he's working on the piano portion of the Beethoven Choral Fantasy which he will be performing in the fall.  Busy young man!  I haven't used a music theme for him in a long time, so thought it was time to dust off the piano stamp and go at it.  This sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the Design Team samples provided great inspiration for this card.  It's already been put in the mail to him, so hope he enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it for him!

Here's a list of materials I used on the card:
Stamps:
Concerto (SU, retired) - piano
Country Greetings (SU, retired) - sentiment
Universal Backgrounds (CTMH, retired) - music background
Cardstock:
Black glossy - from my stash
Gold Pearls - Core'dinations
Birch - from my stash
Inks:
Versamark ink
Memento black ink
Champagne ink (CTMH)
Other:
Black embossing powder (CTMH, retired)
Sizzix music note embossing folder
Stripes embossing folder (CTMH)
Chevron embossing folder (CTMH)
DMC black floss
mounting foam

 Dates for Stamp Club are:

Mojo Monday 348

I was so glad to find this sketch on Monday morning!  I had a class on Tuesday and still had one card left to design - well, here it is!

This card offers my students a second card option for stamping with pigment ink.  Some of the elements on this card are similar to the ones I used on a Deconstructed Sketch several weeks ago using a companion stamp image.

RetroSketches #117

Everything fell together quite nicely for this card, but it didn't start off that way!  I'd tried different sketches and papers with this stamp and wasn't happy with them.  Then I made a trip to the vendor faire at CKC Phoenix and found this cute background paper that matched my cardstock - and the next day saw the RetroSketches challenge sketch and was in business.

Here's a list of the materials I used on this card, which is a part of my June Stamp Clubs:
Stamps:
Graphic Birthday (Taylored Expressions TEALC68) - main image
Balloons (CTMH M1037) - well, the balloons, naturally :)
Birthday Greetings (SU, retired) - inside sentiment
Papers:
Boy Crazy background paper - "Plaid" and "Point the Way" - My Mind's Eye
Crushed Curry cardstock (SU, retired)
White Daisy, Cranberry, Crystal Blue, Goldrush, and Chocolate cardstock (CTMH)
Inks:
Cranberry, Honey, Lagoon, Pear (CTMH)
Other:
Baker's Twine from my stash

Fab Friday 41

I have been having a lot of fun with this stamp set - originally designed for the folks "Down Under" in Autstralia and New Zealand.  But when the CTMH consultants in North America saw it (and several others), we wanted them as well.  And Close to my Heart responded and added them to our inventory!

The sketch at Fab Friday was great for this little kangaroo - I used it in a card swap with members of my CTMH team last weekend.

Here you can see some of the details - I love popping up certain elements of a stamp, so I did that with the center balloon and the cake.  I used my PrismaColor colored pencils and odorless mineral spirits to color most of her - I only have a few alcohol markers and used them to add the yellow and the bold red.

Here's a list of the materials I used to create this card (all CTMH)
Papers:
Kraft cardstock
White Daisy cardstock
Balloon Ride background paper
Stamps:
Hoppy Birthday (D1597)
Kaboom (S1406) the FUN circle - this is the Stamp of the Month for June
Inks:
Black
Cranberry
Twilight
Other:
PrismaColor Colored Pencils (not CTMH) and misc alcohol markers
Mounting Foam
Corner Rounder

SUNDAY STAMPS- SSC75...It's looking like Spring!

Sunday Stamps had a color challenge this week that I decided to try.  These are not the colors I would have typically used for this project, but as it was going together, I was so glad that I ventured forth into this one.  I used the Deconstructed Sketch #150 - that challenge closed before I could get this done.  But at least I had a good sketch to work with so that I could use this cute little stamp image!
We will make this tag in my June Stamp Clubs.

Here are the products I used - all CTMH
Papers:
White Daisy, Lagoon, Cotton Candy and Black cardstock
Lollydoodle background paper
Inks:
White Daisy pigment ink
Lagoon ink
Stamp Sets:
Hope (main image) A1153
Distressed Backgrounds (banner texture) D1544
Girls Rock (leaves) C1538
Other:
Damask embossing folder Z1927

RETROSKETCHES #111

I had pinned several cards on Pinterest with similar phrases using fan{tashe}tic and {spec}tacular, but had never used them.  So I decided to use both of them, making two cards with this week's RetroSketch - and then the people in Stamp Club will have a choice!

The only problem that I had with this card is that the sentiment needs to be printed on the computer, since I don't have a stamp for it.  However, neither of my printers likes cardstock - so guess I will have to head to the local copy shop to print the card fronts.

Here's the list of materials I used:
White Daisy and Black cardstock (CTMH)
Black ink (CTMH)
In the Background stamp set (CTMH D1540) - chevron pattern
Santa at Night paper (American Traditional Designs) - black with white speckles
Black Button Brads (CTMH - retired)
Spectacles die (Taylored Expressions #TE110) - glasses
Artiste Cricut Cartridge (CTMH Z1790) - mustache

Check out the other great cards made with this sketch at the RetroSketch Challenge Blog.
