It is so good to be back home and back in my craft room. My mother-in-law has been in rehab. Hopefully she will be home soon.
I had several "Quick Card" stamp sets from CTMH that I wanted to use in
the June Stamp Clubs - applying several different color inks to one
image before stamping it. The color challenge at Play Date Cafe this
week was perfect for the "Quick Cards - Shell" image.
I used the Pacifica and Lagoon directly on the image, then stamped it again with the Autumn Terracota and cut out the shell to adhere to the center. You can't see it very well, but I used a Sakura clear stardust gel pen to accent the Lagoon and Terracota sections - adding just a hint of sparkle.

June Stamp Club
The theme for this month is The
Child in All of Us! It’s a way to
use those stamp sets that look like they are designed for kids, but make them
into cards that would work for your friends as well as the young folk in your
life.

Play Date Cafe and Freshly Made Sketches
I tried several new challenges this week - the color palette from Play Date Cafe and the sketch from Freshly Made. I needed a card for someone doing a senior piano recital - and I think it turned out pretty well. Keeping it simple (the idea of Freshly Made) and the great colors from Play Date helped a lot - I don't think I would have come up with it on my own. That's what's great about the challenges.
Click here to go over to the Freshly Made blog to see other creations with this sketch. To see other designs with this color combination, click here and head over to the Play Date Cafe. Thanks for looking! Enjoy your week.
UPDATE: I received honorable mention on Play Date Cafe for this card - and got to add the "Cream in Our Coffee" badge!

H2H and Mojo Monday 241
The H2H challenge this week is Polka Dots and Stripes (and of course, the Dotty for You paper pack is perfect!). I used the Mojo Monday 241 sketch for this card for a friend's birthday. Had to get the photos done quickly as we celebrate today!

H2H and Mojo Monday 240
I wasn't sure I was going to get this done before Mother's Day!!!
I needed a new design for my MIL because she sits in my classes sometimes, and I didn't want to use the Mother's Day card we made in April. So I combined challenges - I used the Mojo Monday 240 sketch and the H2H Mother's Day theme. I used two retired paper packs - Bliss and Perfect Day. It didn't show up very well on the photo, but I ran the juniper paper through an embossing folder, then toned it down by inking it with the White Daisy pigment ink. The little flower is from the Lucy Bitty Buds assortment, and the ribbon is from the discontinued Wings Creative Basics kit.
You can see other cards created with this sketch by clicking here to go to the Mojo Monday blog, and see the other Mother's Day cards at H2H by clicking here!
You can see more details of this card (sketch and more photos) by clicking here to go to My Challenges page.
Thanks for looking - and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms!

Or perhaps you would like to have a flowery expression of love or friendship to share with someone special.

H2H Photo Inspiration Challenge
This week H2H posted a photo for our inspiration. The shower curtain made me think of water (of course) and what swims in water but this cute little fish from "Under the Sea!" You can see the challenge photo and the other details of this creation by clicking here to go to "My Challenges" page. You can also click here to go over to the H2H blog and see all the other wonderful creations inspired by the photo. This challenge was a great way for me to think in a different way about this set - of course I thought I would use the Footloose CTMH papers for it - but what a great look with this fun color combination. Thanks, H2H, for the inspiration!

Mojo Monday 237 and H2H Stitching Challenge
Another challenge, and another opportunity to use the May Stamp of the Month from CTMH! This card was inspired by the Mojo Monday 237 Sketch, but I decided to add the stitching component from the H2H challenge for April. I used both machine stitching and hand stitching on this one. Click here to get more details about this card on "MY CHALLENGES" page. You can also hop over to Mojo Monday by clicking here, and be sure to check out H2H by clicking here! Lots of great interpretations on both sites.
