Heart 2 Heart Challenge - Christmas Part 2

I fell in love with this stamp set - To You and Yours (B1403) - when I first saw the new CTMH catalog.  Gals in my group had been asking for a true window card, and I knew this image would be perfect for it.

I used cranberry, sweet leaf and olive alcohol markers to color him in.  The bow and swirls are cut from Artiste (love that cartridge!).

The Grand Madison Window die is from Poppy Stamps.  The opening is cut with one of the Nestabilities rectangles from Spellbinders.  The green paper is from the retired Creative Basics Mistletoe collection.

This card is being done in my November Stamp Clubs, and I've entered it in the Heart 2 Heart Christmas - Part 2 challenge.  Click here to check out Heart 2 Heart and all the other beautiful Christmas projects made with Close to My Heart products!

Christmas Challenge - Black Tie Fridays and Heart 2 Heart

Both Heart 2 Heart and Black Tie Fridays had a Christmas challenge this week.  Black Tie Fridays, a new challenge blog I just found out about, required a pink monochromatic theme with a touch of black.  Heart 2 Heart simply said anything Christmas was accepted for their first Christmas challenge of the year.  So this is what I came up with.

The Pear and Partridge paper pack has this sheet that is primarily pink, so I used smoothie cardstock as the card base.  The ornament image is from the October Stamp of the Month - Very Merry Christmas.  CTMH's new black tulle ribbon was one of the "touches of black" for Black Tie Fridays.  And what ornament would be complete without some bling - so bitty sparkles, bitty pearls and a rhinestone designer brad (all from CTMH) complete the look.

The card itself is a modified Swinging Z-Fold, so the greeting is stamped on the inside that isn't seen when the card is closed.  The greeting is also from Very Merry Christmas, the background stamp is from Merry and Bright (C1510) and I added one of the Pear and Partridge rub-ons.

I just found out that Black Tie Fridays selected my card for the "Casual Friday" award!!!! Thanks.

Heart 2 Heart Challenge - BIG card!

Well, it's been a while since I've been able to play with any of the challenges.  Luckily, this one was right up my alley.  This is the card I made for my son's birthday - and it is L - O - N - G!  I used the colonial white die cut card (3.5 X 8) and the Cruisin' (now retired) Workshop on the Go from CTMH.  I love the fact that the card is big enough that the pocket on the inside actually holds the money without having to fold it!
I have to say that this size card was a bit of a challenge to design, especially with the extra flap at the end.  But that flap adds so much to the design, it was worth it in the end!

Head on over to "My Challenges" page to find out more details about this card!

Thanks for looking!
