STAMPING CLUB

The Stamping Club is a group of women who meet every month at my home for a time of fun and a bit of stamping.  This group is actually an extension of the "Exploring Stamping" series.  Take a look at what we are doing and contact me if you are interested in joining us!

MARCH 2016
Springtime - in more ways than one!

The technique card for March is this fun "spinner" card using the March Stamp of the Month - "Sunshine Birdies".

You will select one of these two cards to create.

There are four versions of this card, as shown above,
but you will decide which one you will make.
You can mix and match the papers and critters based on
 what works for you.

Notice that each of the critters is mounted
on a spring for some added fun.
Our final project for the day will be this cute tag!

Cost to make all 4 projects is $20.  Pre-stamped kits are available for an extra $3 if you are unable to attend or are out of the area.  Shipping is extra.

Class meets on these dates:
Tuesday, March 1
Thursday, March 3
Saturday, March 5
Monday, March 7

Please email me to register at least 3 days before the class you want to attend.
Kits must be requested no later than March 4.

JANUARY 2016
Sending Love Your Way
January's Stamp Club is upon us, and I wanted you to see what projects we will make.
There are two paper packs we will work with, the new embossing diffussers,
as well as two of the new coordinating stamp sets and thin cut dies.
The first featured paper is La Vie En Rose (X7201B).  This card is also our technique card for January - with the cascading folds beneath the beautiful rose from this month's Stamp of the Month - Beloved Bouquet (S1601).  You can select any sentiment for the inside of this card.
This card uses the circle diffusser (Z3096) over the Floral embossing folder (Z1994).  The flowers are from the new Springtime Wishes set (C164) and they are cut out with the coordinating thin cut dies (Z3201).  A variety of sentiments will fit in the flat circle area, so you can create the kind of card you want.
These two cards are created with the same design, but you will choose which elements you want to use.  The paper pack is the new Charlotte (X7205B) and the stamp set is "Stuck on You" (C1643).  This set also has the coordinating thin cut dies (Z3200).  Living in Arizona, I can't think of a more appropriate fun greeting to send to someone!
The final card uses the "Positive Chemistry" stamp set (B1485).  You can create this card in one of two ways, depending on your needs.
Stamp Club will meet on three different dates in January 2016:
Thursday, January 21
Saturday, January 23
Monday, January 25
Cost of the class is $20 and includes everything to complete one of each style of card shown.  In addition, there will be a bonus Valentine treat cover.

SEPTEMBER 2015
TECHNIQUE!
This September, we are going to learn several new techniques to use on your stamping projects.  Take a look!
"Bokeh" is the technique photographers use to make the background of the picture out-of-focus.  This is the first of two Bokeh techniques we will work with.  You will need to have a sponge dauber and white pigment ink for this card - and you will choose one of the two options shown.
Here's another Bokeh technique - a little simpler and uses regular dye ink.
Windowpane cards look great, but most techniques are little time intensive.  This card uses a quick method to achieve the great paneled look!  Find out what the trick is by joining in the fun!
We will use the September Stamp of the Month - Paper Garden - on this lovely card.
The new silver foil tape from CTMH adds such a nice shine,
and we'll head into the kitchen and grab a roll of regular foil to finish off the effect.

Class meets on four separate dates, so pick the one that works best for your schedule!
If you can't attend in person, kits are available for pick-up or I can mail them out.
NOTE: Kits must be ordered by Saturday, September 12, 2015

Cost is $20 to make 4 cards.  Dates are:
Tuesday, September 8    Thursday, September 10
Saturday, September 12 — Monday, September 14

Monday class is nearly full,

but plenty of room left on the other days.

AUGUST 2015
FUN!
I realized as I was getting this post ready, that I didn't really have a theme for this month.  With everything happening after we returned from Europe and then my trip to the CTMH Convention, I just made some cards that made me feel good - so I decided we will just have FUN this month!!  And I think all of the cards are just that - fun to make and they'll be fun to send to your friends and family.

This paper may look familiar - it was a favorite of so many.  The Laughing Lola paper, though retired, still lives comfortably in my stash - and I thought she'd like to visit with you this month.  You can choose either side of the patterned paper for your project.  The image is stamped in white pigment ink on either black or thistle cardstock.  If you choose the black card base, we will add a white piece on the inside so your thought can be written without having to look for a gel pen!
There are a couple of things I love about this card.  The Botanical Backgrounds stamp set gives you a black line image, and coloring just a few of the images really makes an impact (and it's a LOT easier than coloring all of them).

The sentiment is from the soon-to-be-retired "Happy Everything" stamp set.  This set not only has great phrases, but it is also CTMH's current Operation Smile stamp set.  That means that when you purchase this set for $17.95, $3 of every purchase goes directly to Operation Smile to make it possible for kids who wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to get surgery to correct their cleft lips or palates.  So if you don't already own this set, you might want to get your order ready!  It'll only be around until the end of August.
Next up is a sunburst card.  I've been wanting to make one of these with you for a long time, but just didn't get it figured out.  But when I saw the new Zoe papers, I knew that it would be perfect.  You will be using all 6 of the patterns in this new paper pack (available as a "sneak peak" purchase in August).  More information on Zoe can be found on the CTMH page of this blog.  The label and sentiment are from the August Stamp of the Month - Framed.  The link right above will also give you information about this stamp set.
Our last card will be one that I made a while back, based on a card I'd seen by Vicki Price (well, actually, it is exactly like the card Vicki made).

The chevron strip stamped on the card is from one of my favorite sets - In the Background.  We will be saying goodbye to this stamp set at the end of the month, so thought we'd better ink it up one more time and then give it a rest.  You can change the sentiment on the card if you would like to have a birthday greeting instead.

Stamp Club will meet on 4 different days in August.
Tuesday, August 4
Thursday, August 6
Saturday, August 8
Monday, August 10
Cost is $20 to make all 4 projects shown
Email me to register

All groups meet in my craft room in Prescott Valley, AZ and start at 9:30.
Bring your lunch because we usually finish around 1:30.  These are really social groups as well as card-making groups.  We share projects that everyone has made since the last time we were together - and since it's been several months, I expect to see lots of show and tell items!

Hope to see you soon!

APRIL 2015
FOR A FRIEND
The picture above shows the basic elements of April's Stamp Club class.

Everyone will make the four cards shown.  There will be a number of sentiment options for each card so you can customize your set based on your needs.

You will notice that the photo on the left includes a covered box that coordinates with the cards.  Add this on to the basic class and you will have a wonderful gift set.

The box is the CTMH My Creations Journaling Cards Box.  If you want to add this to the class, you will need to purchase the box ($6.80 includes shipping and tax) and add on $3 for the materials to cover and embellish the box.  You will receive the papers, cut-out flowers & leaves, gold bling gems for the flower centers and a black gemstone flourish (not shown on the sample).

The tea bag holder uses the new Blossom papers from the Seasonal Expressions 2 mini catalog—and you can start ordering from that catalog on April 1!  You will receive instructions for making this, and you can adjust the measurements to fit the size of tea bags you use in your future projects.

The dates for April's Stamp Club have been moved back by a week to accommodate my husband's work schedule.  Please make sure you have the right date on your calendar.
I have a few extras of the box if you would like to participate and have not ordered the box.
Just let me know as soon as possible so all the materials can be ready for you.
If you are interested in this project but are not able to attend in person, you can purchase a kit.  You can either pick it up at my house or I can mail it to you.  I will get specifics from you when you register and purchase this option.
Stamp Club Dates are:
Monday, April 13
Tuesday, April 14
Thursday, April 16
Saturday, April 18
Cost for the basic class is $20 - includes 4 cards and the tea bag holder
Add the covered box on for $9.80 (includes purchasing the box and materials to cover it)

MARCH 2015
SPRING IS IN THE AIR
We had a lot of fun in March making these spring-themed cards.

The first card used daubers to create the inked background for the card base.
It was an attempt to make a look similar to the Bokeh technique which is very popular right now.
A second card uses ink on masking tape - or in this instance, washi tape.

This joy-fold card uses a Taylored Expressions stamp and die set and papers from my stash.

Finally, we used the new CTMH stamp set "Hopping By", January's "Year Noted" papers
and the little springs to get things moving on this card.

FEBRUARY 2015
BIRTHDAY EXTRAVAGANZA
This is the month to replenish you birthday card stash.  We will make 6 cards in class.
I love the colors in the Hopscotch papers, and using them with the February Stamp of the Month - A Happy Hello - worked very well.  You will use a masking technique to give the layered look to this card with NO cutting required!

The card below uses the Confetti Wishes paper, which actually is birthday-themed.  A little glitter glue really makes the candle shine!
The circle is Doodled Designs (CTMH A1170) and the sentiment is Wish (CTMH M1051).  The candle stamp is from my stash.

This next card is just fun - with these "funky" birds and flowers, sending a cheery birthday greeting.  The images are from Happy Birds (CTMH C1600) and the sentiments are from Lovely Birthday (CTMH B1462).  The paper is from the Brushed paper pack.
A little more sophisticated is this black and tan birthday greeting.  Paper is from the Yuletide Carol paper pack.  This uses the CTMH  Hats Off hostess rewards stamp set (C1593) and a shape cut from the CTMH Cricut Artiste cartridge.

You always need a card for the men in your life, so this is a quick one for you.  This uses the same Hats Off hostess stamp set as the clock card above.  Paper is from the Chalk It Up pack, and the border is done with the CTMH Chevron Border Punch (Z1998).

And finally, I'm notorious for being late sending my wishes, so we need a belated birthday card.  The inside reads - "Sometimes they go by before you get to make a wish.  Sorry I missed your birthday."  The stamp set is from Taylored Expressions (Shooting Stars) and the papers are from my stash.
Think that's it for this month!  Hope you can join us!

JANUARY 2015
COFFEE and a CARD
Several months ago, Pam E showed me a sample of a mini-album she made with coffee sleeves.
Someone at the CTMH Convention showed a mini coffee cup they had covered.
I thought it would be fun to combine these projects into this month's class.
And thanks to Sally S who saved coffee sleeves from the nurses at the hospital, we have enough to go around!!
We will start with the little coffee cups.  These are perfect for little treats, special small gifts, or just plain fun!  Either side of the paper can be used so you can have them be red or turquoise.

Everyone will get 4 coffee sleeves - and you can turn them into this mini album, or there is a card option.
You can cut one side of the coffee sleeve to give you extra "pages"

You can create pockets with the coffee sleeves by gluing the bottoms shut - and you will have some of the Heartstrings Picture My Life cards to insert.
This works to create the card option as well.

Finally, we will have one regular card to finish out the day.
Cost of the class is $20
Dates are:
Saturday, January 10
Monday, January 12
Tuesday, January 13
Thursday, January 15

CHRISTMAS CARDS
Four Christmas cards this month.  The first showcases a new inking technique using a craft mat to create the background color.
Here's a link to the blog posting telling about it.

We will do another chalkboard technique card.
The Angel hostess set is a favorite.
This is a version of the card I had a the Open House in July.
Our last card is winter themed, inspired by the movie Frozen.

NOVEMBER 2014
THANKFUL and CHRISTMAS PROJECTS
We have three projects that reflect thankfulness this month.  You can adapt them to send Thanksgiving greetings if you wish.

I love this stamp set from the Pathfinding Cardmaking WOTG.  The flower is inked first in the lighter color and then the edges of the stamp are rolled in the darker color to give the two-toned look.

The retired Laughing Lola papers coordinate so well with the Scaredy Cat patterns - and the just-released Diamond embossing folder works great with the diamond patterned paper!

Our last Thanksgiving project can be used on your table - add goodies and a name, and you have a place card as well as a favor for your guests.
Now we move on to several Christmas projects.
The first is a quick card using the Snowhaven Cardmaking WOTG - but not the Snowhaven papers.  Fun colors with some washi tape,  a bit of paper piecing and a little enamel heart to embellish.
Gift cards or checks seem to be popular with the grandkids, so here is a card that you can use for that purpose.  The Snowhaven papers are reversible, so you can choose which design you want to show.

OCTOBER 2014
FALL and CHRISTMAS PROJECTS

We are starting with Pop-up boxes this month -
and you have a choice of two different designs.

The tree of the fall box literally comes out of the box - extending beyond the sky backing.
A cute owl sits atop the pumpkins that are surrounded by the fallen leaves.

The haunted house box is complete with bats and headstones behind
a very spiky fence.

Everyone will make these Christmas tags, using the October Stamp of the Month from CTMH.  You can turn them into whatever project you desire!

The final project is optional.  In order to create the Christmas mini-album, you need to purchase the CTMH Holiday Happenings Assortment. ($6.80 includes shipping and tax) Many added it on their order last month, but I have extras for those who did not buy it in advance.
Here's what's included:
All of the cards are double-sided cardstock.  I'm showing the side with the most design.  The back of all the cards, regardless of size, is a blank slate for journaling or adding whatever embellishment you want.  There is a design, but no large image.
  There are 4 - 4X6 cards, 8 - 3X4 cards, and 4 - 2X2 envelopes (above) and below
18 - 2X2 cards, 2 - 4X4 alphabet sticker sheets and 4 - 4X4 image sticker sheets.

Shown on the left are the items that I will provide to you so you can turn this assortment into a mini-album.  There are lots of possibilities for this project.

If you don't want to make the mini-album, you can substitute a second pop-up card of your choice instead.
Just let me know when you register.

Cost for the class is $20 and includes the materials shown in the bottom photo for the mini-album, all materials for the pop-up box of your choice & the tags.
If you want to make an extra pop-up box, the cost is $4.00

Dates for Stamp Club are:
Thursday, October 2

Tuesday, October 7

Saturday, October 11

Monday, October 13

SEPTEMBER 2014
FUN WITH FRIENDS

This card has lots of dimension on it, created with an embossing folder, liquid glass, a border punch, and raised images.  You will learn the technique to create the stormy sky and cloud background papers using normal stamping tools.

Hard to believe that the main image on this card is actually from a Christmas set - Make it Merry (D1617).
It makes a really fun birthday card!

Friends definitely make things better, whether they are the 2- or 4-legged variety.  This card uses one of the new hostess reward stamps - Better with a Friend (D1608).  Take a look at the other images on the set.  You can decide which of the friends you want to play with for this card.

Our final card uses one of the new "Fronts-n-Backs" stamps from Art Impressions.  This image is "Sarah".
There is so much more to this card as you open it up.
And finally, all is revealed .
There will be a non-birthday option for phrases for this card as well.

Dates for Stamp Club are:
Tuesday, September 2
Thursday, September 4
Saturday, September 6
Monday, September 8
All groups start at 9:30 and run about 4 hours.
Cost is $20 and includes all materials to complete the four cards.
Email me at scrappingailaz@gmail.com if you are interested in attending.
Hope to see you soon!

AUGUST 2014
SEASIDE FUN
Who doesn't enjoy a trip to the seaside in the summer?  Especially if you want to escape the heat of Arizona!  We'll be doing just that right here at Stamp Club in August.  The card above showcases a new technique that allows you to create your own background paper - really fun to use.

The blue paper that I've used on the card above and to the right is the new CTMH Glacier - and the coordinating ink is used on the birthday card for that monochromatic look.  We don't seem to do enough cards for the men in our lives, so here's a great one for the guys!

You can see how the theme carries over to the inside of the card as well - I love all aspects of this "Seaside Greetings" stamp set that includes a light house and other sentiments.

The Seaside background paper is used on the birthday card and the two cards below.  I love the weather-worn wood look on this paper.

The last two cards use a different stamp set, but continue with the Seaside paper.  The new silver sequins will be used, along with one of the other new colors - Thistle.  Not only will you use the Thistle ink, but also the Thistle Diagonal Striped Ribbon.   Notice that the Thistle ink is a match to the retired Laughing Lola paper - so if you wish to use that paper for the flower card, please let me know when you register.

Dates for Stamp Club are:
Tuesday, August 5
Thursday, August 7
Saturday, August 9
Monday, August 11
Cost is $20 and includes all materials to make the cards shown.
Not able to make one of the above dates or you are out of the area?
Consider purchasing the kit!

JUNE 2014
Let's Just Have FUN!

These pop-up boxes can be seen all over the internet right now.  And in class, you will choose one of these designs to make, and you will receive the instructions to be able to re-create it once you are home.  We will make a custom envelope for this work of art to be sent off in.
You will select either the card shown above or the one below.
Each uses pigment ink on dark paper.
You can use either phrase on the card design you choose.
The last card project is shown below - using a greeting from Taylored Expressions.
You will paper-piece the greeting in a variety of colors for a fun look.
The final class project is making a pendant from the CTMH Base and Bling jewelry collection.
The nice thing about these pendants is that you can use them in a
variety of ways other than on the end of a chain and around your neck.
They are fast and fun.
Cost of Stamp Club is $20 and includes all the materials to make one of each project discussed.
Dates for Stamp Club are:
Tuesday, June 3
Thursday, June 5
Monday, June 9
Saturday, June 14
Contact me at scrappingailaz@gmail.com if you have any questions.

MAY 2014
It's a GUY Thing!

We don’t focus on cards for men very often, so this month it will be all about the guys.

This tool card can be made for either a birthday or Father's Day.
Notice the shiny background -
that's heavy duty foil that has been embossed.
You'll learn how to do it so the design won't get crushed.

The ship card has another fun element added - cork!
This is a card that can also be adapted for Father's Day.
We've made cascading cards for many occasions before - now it's time to make an easy version for the guys.  Just one angled piece with several folds makes a fun card.
Finally, two options with the same card design.
I found similar phrases on Pinterest, and adapted them to these fun birthday cards.

Stamp Club will meet on the following dates:
Thursday, May 1
Tuesday, May 6
Saturday, May 10
Monday, May 12

Cost is $20 and includes everything to make one of each card style shown—
but you have to decide on the mustache or glasses design.
If you want to make both of these cards, it will be an extra $2.50.

Email me to register—Hope to see you soon!

APRIL 2014
Tags, Bags, Boxes and Bows!
No cards this month.  But lots of paper used to decorate and create wonderful projects that can be used as gift containers or to embellish your gift bag.

The "Give a Lift" stamp set (D1581) had 2 different balloon images on it, and the canister could be covered in either Balloon Ride or Ivy Lane paper.  The top of the canister had a paper rosette on it.  For those who didn't want to purchase the Kraft Canister (Z1833 $3.95) they could use the same materials to create a tag.

The other option for the canister was to cover it with Timberline paper, jute ribbon, and add images from the Timberline Workshop on the Go kit and this cute Penny Black image of an adventurous boy.  You can see the top of this canister above, with added twine.

We made a bag from a 6X12 piece of patterned paper and a little cardstock.  The instructions can be found at Splitcoaststampers.com.  We added a bow made with strips of paper and the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board.
Finally, we used the Julie Nutting doll stamps from Prima Marketing to create tags - every one as unique as the person who created it.  So much fun to piece together the clothing items and create a collage on the tag behind the doll.  I think I'm hooked on them!

FEBRUARY 2014
BIRTHDAY EXTRAVAGANZA
We will replenish your supply of birthday cards this month with 10 new cards!  There are options for men and women, fun and whimsical.  No new technique - just lots of cards.  We will be using most of the new papers from CTMH and many of the new stamp sets.

JANUARY 2014
RING OUT THE OLD -- BRING IN THE NEW
You will have LOTS of options this month - with two versions of every card.  You can make them as Valentines, or make them more versatile for other uses for those special people in your lives.  You will make ONE of each of the options shown.

These two stamps - Quick Cards Bumble Bee and Quick Cards Butterfly - are retiring at the end of January.  But they are perfect for the emboss-resist technique.  We will also use embossing folders to add dimension to the cards.

I found this glasses die from Taylored Expressions.  The slate grey ribbon is retiring, so thought we'd make use of it on the girly card.  Or you can make a guys card for Valentine's Day.

The "Lifting Spirits" stamp set was in the Holiday Guide and is already retired.  But the gold dotted washi tape and the teal shimmer trim are being introduced in the Spring/Summer Idea Book.  The pink polka dotted washi tape is being replaced with a pink striped washi tape.  Some of these products are included in the "Cloud Nine" Cardmaking Kit for National Papercrafting Month in January.  Details of that special can be found on the CTMH page of this blog.

These cards make use of the paper and images from the "Cloud Nine" Cardmaking Kit.  Since the paper is double-sided, you can choose which design you want to show.  You can see the variety of images you have to choose from when completing your card.

The cost for Stamp Club is $20
and includes all the materials to make one card from each of the options shown above.

Dates for Stamp Club in January are listed here.  All groups meet at 9:30 in my home craft studio in Prescott Valley.
Saturday, January 4
Tuesday, January 7
Thursday, January 9
Monday, January 13

NOVEMBER 2013
"KRAFTY" PROJECTS FOR THE HOLIDAYS
I'm a little late posting the photos, but everyone who has participated in this class
has left with a variety of cards for either Thanksgiving or Christmas.
The wreath is from the CTMH Merry & Bright stamp set -
and Merry Christmas is cut from the CTMH Artiste Cricut cartridge.
This easel door card could also be decorated with a fall wreath and the mat says "Give Thanks"

The brick wall was created with an overlay cut on the Cricut using the new CTMH Artbooking cartridge.
The window frame is the Madison Window from PoppyStamps.
The lace curtains are made with a Martha Stewart punch.
The "wallpaper" is the retired Bliss paper, and the tree is from the current Always Grateful stamp set.  The tree is rather narrow, so it is stamped twice, overlapping in the center to give the appearance of the trunk!
The stamped greeting above the tree is from the retired Pear & Partridge Cardmaking WOTG.

We are using alcohol inks to create the color for these images - then they are embossed.
The stamps are from Heartfelt Creations with accompanying Spellbinder dies.
The shape is cut out and embossed before being popped up above the image.
You select the image you want to use on your card.

Finally, we are assembling a milk carton (cut from kraft cardstock with the CTMH Artiste Cricut cartridge) and decorating it to look like a gingerbread house.  Elements were cut on the Cricut and the "Candyland" stamp set was used for the candies and gingerbread man.  Lots of fun!

These classes met on Nov. 4, 5, 7, and 9th.
The cost was $20 and included the materials for all of the projects shown.

OCTOBER 2013
FROM FALL TO CHRISTMAS!
We will do one more project for fall - and you can pick which of these cascading cards
you want to make -- either the basket of leaves or the Halloween haunted house!
The leaf card has a pull-out tag that has lots of space for adding a message to the recipient - and the embossing on the leaves gives it a great deal of dimension.

The haunted house is the tag on the Halloween card - and the back side is the orange color, so you can write on it.  You can add bats to the scene with clear plastic to make them look like they are flying.

Now it's time to turn our attention to Christmas.
We will start this month with three cards and some gift tags.
Both of these cards add a bit of sparkle for the season!
We will use one of the adhesive springs to truly "pop" the greeting on this next card.
Finally, we'll use the October Stamp of the Month - Scandinavian Wishes - and create three gift tags.
It will be a full day and lots of fun!
Stamp Club will meet on these dates - pick the one that works best for you and let me know.

 Tuesday, October 1
Thursday, October 3
Saturday, October 5
Monday, October 7
Cost will be $20 for all of the projects shown - if you wish to make
both of the cascading cards, there will be an extra charge of $4.00.

SEPTEMBER 2013
IT FEELS LIKE FALL!
Fall is the perfect time to play with some different inks and special techniques with them.
This first card will use the September Stamp of the Month - inked in several different colors and then cut apart with various colors taped over the original to highlight whatever part of the design you want to.  The background is created on glossy paper with alcohol inks with a little bit of burlap ribbon added.

This card also uses alcohol inks, but applied more specifically.  The image is stamped with Staz-On ink on clear plastic, then the alcohol ink is applied with a small paintbrush on the back side.  The ombre technique is created on the background sheet with three different colors of ink.

The watercolor technique we used several months ago on the poppy flowers will be used again on the leaves of the wreath.  There are a variety of sentiments that can be used in the center of the wreath when you complete your card.

The final card will give you some options - you can either do it as a fall card or there will be a variety of sentiments that can make it into sympathy, thinking of you, get well, or whatever you desire.  We will do second-generation stamping and rolling the stamp in a second ink color to achieve the special effects.  You can decide on class day which card design you will do.

I have added an additional class day because the number of people attending has increased.  I would rather keep the class sizes smaller (8 or fewer) and have time to work with everyone during the class.

Dates for the September Stamp Clubs are:
Tuesday, September 3
Monday, September 9
Thursday, September 12
Saturday, September 14
All classes meet at 9:30 a.m. in my home craft studio in Prescott Valley and last about 4 hours.
Cost of Stamp Club is $20 and includes all the materials to complete one of each project shown.
Please email me to register for the date that works best for you.

AUGUST 2013
BIRTHDAYS

With the release of the new CTMH Idea Book this month, I thought it would be fun to work with some of the new products.  So here we go!

The gift card above is made with a 5 X 7 spin card base from CTMH.   We will add bitty sparkles, glitter paper and use the metallic markers and Prisma Glitter to finish off the bow!  This card uses several of the new single image stamps - A Little Gift and Heartfelt Birthday Wish.

The Cricut will cut this cupcake card. The “frosting” is made with the Colonial White Rosette Ribbon from CTMH and the “sprinkles” are the new Aqua Dots. We will use the new Envelope Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers to create a custom envelope for this special card.

The card above is made with a special watercolor technique using reinkers and a very common crafting product!  I think you'll have fun with this one!

The last card comes from the Laughing Lola Cardmaking Workshop.
Great colors in this paper pack - and the green is a surprise color punch for this project.

Dates for Stamp Club are:

Tuesday August 6
Saturday August 10
Monday August 12

All groups meet at 9:30 a.m. in my home craft room in Prescott Valley.

The cost is $20 and includes all the materials for four projects.

JUNE 2013
CELEBRATING FRIENDS!

A little humor goes a long way
with friends - so these fun ladies
make a great card to share.
Or maybe you are feeling young at heart and chose the two young girlfriends for your card.

Based on how you colored your picture, you will pick the paper that will be used as the background - there is a large assortment to choose from.

The card style is a modified gate fold, and it will be used on whichever picture you selected.
We are doing another chalkboard card this month.

Our final project is the gift set of cards.
This set works well with the new monogram stamps
or with the variety of circle phrases I have available.
You will need to select which paper pattern you will
use for the set, and decide if you want all the cards to
have the same backing color or if you want to mix it up.
You can see the variety in the two sets shown here.
Remember that these papers are double-sided, so it is
easy to switch which design is showing on your cards.
The set above uses the AVONLEA paper

The set below uses the FOR ALWAYS paper
Here are some additional options of mats and phrases
that can be used with either of these two sets of paper.

Let me know when you register which paper pack you want to use for the card kit.  I will follow-up with you about the other details.

In addition to the projects shown, on class day I will have
a bonus project for you using the June Stamp of the Month!

Stamp Club meets on the following dates
Tuesday June 4
Saturday June 8
   Monday June 10
All groups meet at 9:30 a.m. in
my craftroom in my home in Prescott Valley.

Cost is $20 and includes everything to make one friend picture card, one chalkboard birthday card and one gift set.
Additional of any project can be purchased for an extra fee.

Not in the area on class day?  Check with me about
getting a kit to make all of these projects at home!

 Hope to see you soon!

MAY 2013
IT'S A GUY THING!

May is all about the men in our lives - and creating wonderful cards they will appreciate.
We will start with this collage card - it can be used for a birthday, or with a minor adjustment, it could be a Father's Day card.  This 5 X 7 card was inspired by a posting on Pinterest, and I just had to recreate it.

I have fallen in love with the chalkboard technique, so thought it would be fun to give it a try in class.  This is just plain black cardstock that is made to look like a chalkboard - an easy technique that is fun to create.
A quick card that will work for any age - from boys to men!  I used a challenge named that as well as the Deconstructed Sketch for this card - you can see more details on the home page of my blog.
Another new technique - a double pocket card formed from one piece of paper!  I've created four different designs - you get to pick ONE to make.  You can adjust the embellishments on the paper you select to personalize it - there will be lots to choose from.  The tags allow you to add your message as well as secure a gift card or money to the recipient.  I tried to create designs that would work for all ages - so have fun deciding!  Click on any of the photos to see them a bit larger.

The Stamp Club fee of $20 includes the four projects -
one of the double pocket cards and each of the other cards seen above.
Stamp Club will meet on these days - pick the one best for you:
Saturday, May 4
Tuesday, May 7
Monday, May 13
Email me to let me know the date you want and
which double-pocket card you will make.

APRIL 2013
CELEBRATING THE WOMEN IN OUR LIVES!

This cascading card can be made for Mom, Friend, Sister or Daughter.  Or the greeting on the front could be for a birthday.  And you even have a choice of colors to use, so you can really make it your own (an unfinished card is shown to the right so you get the idea!).
More photos of this card can be found on the home page of this blog.

I found the poppy stamp at the Stamp Convention in Mesa in March, and knew that the watercolor technique would be a great addition to this class.  It is a fast easy method to make your image look like you painted it!

You can see the detail in the photo below.
While in Phoenix visiting craft stores, I was finally able to learn how to use colored pencils and odorless mineral spirits to color an image.  The final card will use this technique.  I have enough supplies for everyone to try it, and a variety of background papers to match the colors we will use to color the lovely lady!  Bring your own supplies if you already use this technique.
The inside of this card is blank, allowing you to add whatever greeting you wish.
Our final project will give you the chance to stamp on the new muslin bags - we will be using the pigment inks on this project - and if you wish to add more color, use the alcohol markers.
Stamp Club meets on three different days in April
Monday, April 8
Tuesday, April 9
Saturday, April 13
All groups meet at 9:30 at my home in Prescott Valley
Cost is $20 and includes all of the basic materials for the projects shown.  Bitty pearls will be provided for the cascading card.
If you wish to add bitty pearls or sparkles to the muslin bag
you may bring your own,
or I will have some available to purchase on class day.

 FEBRUARY 2013
CELEBRATING SPRING!
The colors of Spring are so vibrant - and the new Chantilly paper pack is perfect for several of the projects we are doing this month.
We will paper piece this quilt block, emboss it to give it the look of hand quilting, and then turn it into an easel card.  I've used one of the stamps from the Home Sweet Home Stamp of the Month set, but any greeting will work on this card, so you can make it into whatever you want.
This little chicken set is so cute!  The card was designed for a challenge, thus the split paper background.  But the beauty of the double- sided paper is that you can use either pattern as the background so that the card works for you.

Any sentiment will work on the lily card shown below.  If you have something you want to use, feel free to bring it along.

You will be making one milk cartonSeveral techniques were used on the backgrounds.  We will create our own ink misting spray in several colors that can add color to these cartons, or you can use a variety of background stamps before stamping the main image.  The variety is endless with these little treat holders.

You don't have to be a child to love this little bunny bag, designed by fellow CTMH consultant Tracey Sanders.  Standing just over 6" tall, she'll be ready to fill with goodies for anyone.

 JANUARY 2013 - STAMP CLUB
Love is in the Air!
Using the January Stamp of the Month, we will create two different designs.  The first one shown here is embossed and is highlighted with the CTMH shimmer trim - the silver is colored with the Blush alcohol marker to match the project.  Another matching element is the color-ready seam binding that has been inked with the Blush ink pad before tied into the bow.  This card is our farewell to the beautiful La Belle Vie paper pack - it is being discontinued at the end of the month.
The image from the Stamp of the Month will be repeated on this second card.  We will put the main rose inside of this fancy Spellbinders frame, then stamp the entire image as a background on the base of the card.  You can choose a variety of greetings for the front of the card.  This is the card that will open to reveal a honeycomb paper rose inside!  I will add that photo when it is available.
This swinging-Z card is cut on the Cricut using the Artiste cartridge.  The colors were chosen based on a color challenge at Play Date Cafe several weeks ago.
Finally, we will use this fun vintage Valentine paper to create a quick card - with a spring to make the greeting pop and wiggle!
Let me know if you are interested in joining Stamp Club.
There are three separate dates - pick the one best for you.
Monday, January 14
Tuesday, January 15
Saturday, January 19
We always start at 9:30 with a show and tell time.
Bring a lunch so you have plenty of time
to complete all of the projects.

materials for these four cards.

 DECEMBER 2012 - STAMP CLUB
A bit of winter mixed with the end of Christmas - that's what our projects will be this month!  I found my inspiration from the great products CTMH sells as well as projects I had seen on the web.  See what it is all about!
The treat cups that are supposed to be filled with goodies for the "kids" are instead filled with craft snow to create this fun snowman!  It is a center step card, and paper is torn to create the look of snow drifts below him.

Thanks to Ann, we have several different phrases that will work on the front of this card, so you can make it the way you like!

We'll stay with the snow theme, and this snow globe card designed by fellow CTMH consultant Karen Day.  A variety of glitter and glitz products are used on the front of the card to give the impression of a snow globe.   Click on the photo to see the details better.

Open it for your greeting - and you can choose from several options for the inside of this card.

I stayed "Clean and Simple" for this card using a folded circle tree.

Last, but not least, is Santa!  He's such a cutie - designed by fellow CTMH consultant Joyce Houck.  The Cricut is used to cut the shapes, and the new Colonial White Rosette Ribbon is perfect for his beard!   He actually fits in a standard A2 envelope!

Stamp Club will meet on three different dates this month -
TUESDAY, December 4
SATURDAY, December 8
MONDAY, December 10
All groups meet at 9:30
Cost is $20 and includes all materials to make the four projects.
You may make extra cards of any design for an additional fee.

 SEPTEMBER 2012 - STAMP CLUB
I hope you can join us to make these fun fall projects, and several cards that can be suited to your needs!
This banner will work well in any location for the fall season.

The stamped and colored images as well as the letters are mounted up to give dimension.

The leaves are cut on the Cricut, put through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder, and then inked to highlight the design.

This little pumpkin is embossed and then folded and glued together so it can stand on its own.  It will work throughout the fall - from the first leaf that falls, through Halloween and Thanksgiving.
And what would Stamp Club be without a card or two?
Both of the cards are designed from sketches in the new CTMH Make it From the Heart booklet.  Same sketch - but a different feel for each card.

There will be several options of greetings to use on these cards, so you can use them for whatever occasion you need a card for.

Click on any image on this page to see a larger version that shows the details!

Stamp Club meets on four different days - same projects!
All groups start at 9:30 a.m. at my home in Prescott Valley.

JUNE 2012 - STAMP CLUB
"The Child in All of Us!"
The theme for this month is The Child in All of Us!  It’s a way to use those stamp sets that look like they are designed for kids, but make them into cards that would work for your friends as well as the young folk in your life.  Four cards are shown, and with two of them, you can select the images you wish to use.

The gate-fold card with the silhouette is the featured card, so you can pick any two of the others for the $20 class fee.  If you wish to do all of the cards, it will be an extra $2.

You can select from two different silhouette images for the gate-fold card - both from the "Play Day" stamp set.

There are several phrase options for the banner on the plane card,
all from the "Splendid Day" stamp set.

You have options for the image in the center of this card from the "Under the Sea" stamp set.

In addition to the cards shown, everyone will make a tag using a technique of applying multiple colors to one stamp image.  You can then use the tag however you would like – turn it into a card, add it to a scrapbook project, or just use it as a tag!
This sample was made with "Quick Cards - Shell".  We will also use "Quick Cards - Butterfly."

Stamp Club meets at 9:30 on the following dates:
Monday, June 11
Tuesday, June 12
Thursday, June 14
Saturday, June 16
The Tuesday and Saturday groups got bumped to this coming week because of our time in Phoenix and the fact that we were in Tucson with the boys last weekend.
Going to take advantage of this time before Mom comes home!

 MAY 2012 - STAMP CLUB
"It's a GUY Thing!"

The featured card this month is a center step card - using the lighthouse stamp set "Perfect Day" from CTMH.  There are a variety of sentiments that can be used on the front of this card - making this card work for Father's Day, birthday, or as a card offering encouragement.
You can choose two other cards to make from these selections - a vintage car with birthday greeting, a duck with his reflection, or use a masking technique with the bicycle stamp.

Open the flap under the car to reveal a pocket to hold whatever you want - cash, a check, a gift card, or use it to put a photo or special message in!

Everyone will learn both the reflection stamping technique and the masking technique, even if you don't make those cards.

Join us on one of these dates:
Tuesday, May 1
Thursday, May 10
Saturday, May 12
Monday, May 14
Club fee of $20 includes all the materials to make 3 cards.

"BUTTERFLIES FOR A PRETTY WOMAN"
We will focus on the women in our lives in April with butterflies on every project!
The tri-shutter Mother’s Day card below can be made into a card for a daughter, friend, or whatever title you want.

There was a request for a clear card—and the one below is what we will do.
It uses the A-size stamp set “A Tree” for a cute spring card.
You will use either a scalloped round clear card or the square one shown for this project.
Our final project is a single pennant banner.
While we are focusing on the ladies this month, I wanted to give you a second option for your pennant.  Select which of the pennants below you will make.

Notice that there are hat pins behind the flowers above.  You will use corsage pins to create unique pins that match your project.  The flowers are the ones we made in March, but if you want to change out for a different type of flower, that is your choice.
You can make the project your own!
No butterflies on the pennant for guys,
but at least there are wings!

The cost of Stamp Club is $20 - and includes all the materials to make the three projects.
We meet at my home in Prescott Valley.  Directions will be given once you register.
We begin at 9:30 with show and tell - you bring projects, products, or ideas to share with all.
Bring your own lunch as we run until about 2:00.

 MARCH 2012 - STAMP CLUB
It's "Spring"time - as we use small adhesive springs from Close to my Heart on these fun side-step cards!

One "peep" is springing forth on the front of this side-step card.  The basket of eggs is actually a pull-out tag for your message.

You can decide to add that tag, or just leave the steps covered in grass and eggs (seen in the card on the right in the photo above).

The second card we will make is a tulip and Springtime card - with the center of the frame springing off the card!

Add as many flowers as you wish to the steps on this card.

After we finish the side-step cards, we will make a variety of paper flowers We will use them to embellish a floral stamped image that can be used as a gift tag.
None of the flowers we make will require a special machine - simply punches, scissors, and glue.  There are roses, two ways of making carnations, and other pretty flowers to enhance any spring project.

Stamp Club meets on three different days - all starting at 9:30 at my home in Prescott Valley.
Tuesday, March 6
Thursday, March 8
Saturday, March 10
Cost for the group is $20 and includes all materials for all the projects.

 FEBRUARY 2012 - STAMP CLUB

We are going to work with SMALL images this month - making them seem large on your card.

This card features one of the small CTMH incentive stamps, but with the paper-pieced design behind it, you don't notice how small the image is!

In addition to the card, we will learn a "quick technique" -
making an envelope for this special sized card, but we won't use a template or any special tools.

You will select two more cards to complete during class.  If you wish to pay extra and do all five cards, that is possible.  Look and see which ones interest you.

This little typewriter looks realistic with the paper coming out of it.  You can also choose a stamp that says "friend" for the typed image.
The inside message of the birthday card reads
"It's the type of day to celebrate!"
The friendship card inside reads
"You are just my TYPE!"

The chair stands out against a background stamped with the same image, and the white card base has more of the same image, looking like a floral background paper!

Who doesn't want more shoes?
Inside message - ...You can never have too many!
These cards will give you the opportunity to share something fun with your friends.

The cost of Stamp Club is $20.
This includes all the materials to complete the paper pieced pink card and two other cards of your choice.
If you wish to make any extras, the cost is $2 for the first card and $1 for each additional card.

Each Stamp Club begins with a "Show and Tell" time, where participants bring projects they have worked on, ideas they have seen, new product they have purchased, or questions about anything related to paper crafting!!!

Groups start at 9:30 - bring your own lunch as we take a break and visit - then continue until we finish all we set out to accomplish.
You are welcome to bring your own paper and stamp extra images or cut shapes from the supplies in my craft room.

We meet at my home in Prescott Valley.
I will send address/directions when you register.

 HAPPY NEW YEAR!
JANUARY 2012 STAMP CLUB
There are three dates for Stamp Club this month.
Tuesday, Jan 10 (full)
Thursday, Jan 12
Saturday, Jan 14
All groups start at 9:30 with a "Show and Tell" time - a chance for people to share projects they have made, ideas they've seen, new product they have or have heard about, and just get ideas!
Everyone brings their own lunch - beverages are provided.
Depending on how long the projects take, the group usually runs until 3:00 in the afternoon - so plan to make a day of it!

Here are the projects for this month.  The samples are all made as Valentines, but you can change the sentiment and create a birthday or friendship card instead if that is what you want to do.

The first project is a telescoping card - three circles folded together that expand to create a wonderful greeting for anyone.

The "distressed embossing" technique will be used on two cards - you choose which one you want to do.

For the last project, you choose from two cards created with the men in your life in mind!
The plaid card can have the sentiment changed, and several options are shown.

The "U ROCK" card actually has a pocket on the inside that allows you to put a pack of Pop Rock candy or a tag with your best wishes!  A very fun card.

The cost of the class - with the telescoping card, one distressed embossed card and one male card - is $20.  All materials for the cards are included, you just bring basic tools and adhesives.
If you wish to make both options for either of the basic cards, the price is $2 for the first and $1 for the second.

Please contact Gail to register

 NOVEMBER STAMP CLUB
Take a look at the Christmas projects we did in November.
Our focus was on "piecing" - so we cut out individual leaves and pieced together the poinsettia, pieced embellishments on top of the stamped tree, and pieced background paper to a chipboard box.  The class samples and finished cards and boxes by class participants are shown.

This clear card is designed with a glitter tree embellished with gemstones.  The greetings on the inside are embossed to show up against the contrasting green background.

The tags are made from this month's Stamp of the Month - Holiday Magic.  What a fun way to embellish a package, or turn the tag into a card.

The final project can be designed as you like.  A variety of papers will be available for you to choose from - as well as different options for flowers, greetings, etc.

The butterfly is cut from recycled packaging material and tinted with alcohol inks.

SEPTEMBER STAMP CLUB
Thursday Sept 1
Tuesday Sept 6

Pumpkins - you make them into something for Halloween or Thanksgiving.

See the cards and table favors that we will be working on.

Multiple options for embossing the images on these fall cards will be available - from regular detail embossing powder to clear embossing powder with colored ink or even Tim Holtz's distressed embossing powder.

The leaves are stamped with a set from Heartfelt Creations and cut with the coordinating Spellbinders dies.

To complete this acrylic card, Stazon inks are used not only on the card itself, but also on the metal leaf.  Ultra Thick Embossing Powder is used on the pumpkin and then the image is stamped while the powder is still hot.

Treat cup pumpkins and pillow boxes - either are a great gift or table favor for the upcoming fall holidays.

Contact me if you are interested in the class.
Starting in October,
a new group will meet on the second Saturday.

Stamp Club has become very popular. In order to accommodate those who are interested in participating, I have added a new day to the schedule. In addition to the first Tuesday of the month, there will also be a club date on the first Thursday of the month.

Next Stamp Club
Tuesday, August 2nd and Thursday, August 4th

The request for August was to make the two round cards I had for "show and tell", as well as something that would work for teen/tween aged girls or boys.  With the thought being that kids at that age like gift cards or money, cards with pockets would work best.  So that is the theme for this month!  All three cards shown have pockets to conceal either money or a gift card, or maybe just a special message you want to hide away.

As we create these cards, we will make use of a stamp positioning tool and wheel stamps!

This accordion-fold card has a hidden pocket in the back.  It conceals a pouch that holds money or a gift card can be inserted.  If you don't plan to give either of these, you can make it with just a pull-out message card.  Multiple birthday messages adorn the card, and the cupcake has an embossed candle as well as jeweled "sprinkles."

This is a fun card to make and give - and while it will work for the teen/tween girls, there is no reason you can't use it for one of your friends as well.  After all, we are all "young at heart!"

For the guys, this double-pocket card allows you to add both a message tag and a gift card or money.    This card can work for a young man of any age!

Different textures have been added to this male card to give interest.

The round card has a simple pouch on the front that allows you to slip in a coffee gift card.  The message can be changed to "Time for Tea" and a tea bag can be inserted instead - your choice.

Stamp Club normally creates 3 cards each session.  Because of the involved nature of the accordion-fold card, the fee for these cards will be slightly higher than normal - $18.00.  But that includes all of the materials to make all of the cards.

Since there was a request to make a second round card, I will offer that option as well, as an add-on for those that are interested.

No pocket in this card - just a fun way to send a greeting to someone you care about.  A masking technique is used to make the stem look like it is behind the scalloped border.  To give a little extra interest to the layers, an edge distresser is used lightly on the white square.

If you want to add this card to your projects, your class total will be $20.

This will be a full day of fun making these various cards that work for friends and family of all ages.

We will start both days at 9:30 with Show and Tell - bring   projects you are working on or  maybe a craft product or tool you think others would enjoy finding out about.

Bring your lunch - I'll have coffee and cold beverages as well as snacks.

The new Close To My Heart Catalogs/Idea Books will be available the beginning of August, so everyone will go home with some new inspiration!

June 7 Stamp Club
Meet at 9:30 - bring your lunch
Don't forget "Show and Tell" items -
we want to see what you've been working on!

This tri-fold shutter card is a fun card to make.  Incorporated into this card project are several special techniques - paper pleating, second-generation stamping, and distressing the interior of a design.

The card is designed with a birthday wish, but you can choose friendship phrases or bring your own stamps to add a greeting.  The center design is a 2.5" circle.

I will send you a list of tools needed to complete this project and the other cards.

With Father's Day approaching, I designed a male-oriented card.  You can add a Father's Day message or birthday greeting to the inside of this card, or just leave it blank.
You will learn how to add 2 ink colors to the image before stamping.  We will distress the edges of the image and its mat.

A large punch and an embossed strip add interest to this simple Fourth of July card.

Stamp Club starts at 9:30
Bring your lunch and enjoy the day
Cost is $15
If you wish to make extra cards, let me know when you register.
Tri-shutter card is $2.00

The three cards we are making this month are shown here.
The quilt block will be paper pieced and than added to an easel card.  The filigree brad will provide the "stopper."

One stamp will be used not only for the main design of the card, but also as the background stamp!  The embossing an pop-dots add dimesion.
This male birthday card is a Joy-Fold card - the hot air balloon is anchoring the fold-out greeting!

See how the flap opens to reveal the message inside!

We will meet at 9:30 on Wednesday, April 30 at my home in Prescott Valley.  Share your projects with us as we "show and tell" at the beginning of our time together.  Bring your lunch to make sure you have plenty of time to get everything done - and you can stay and play in my craft room if you like!
The cost to make all three cards is $15.00.  All materials for the cards are provided, including envelopes.  You bring your adhesive and scissors.
Let me know if you want to make extras of any of the cards, and I will have the materials ready for you.

March 9, 2011
This month we will make two easel cards and revisit the embossed resist technique we learned in Stamping 101 for the sympathy card.

The easel cards are impressive because of the way they stand and display your work. And the detail we will put on these cards is impressive as well.  We will make a collage on one and use the Spellbinders lotus pendant as an accent on the birthday card.  Click on the above photo to see the details.

We will use liquid glass, Stickles, cut-out images, charms, punches, flowers, and brads to embellish these special cards.  Remember - because of the size of these cards, they will require extra postage!

The sympathy card will showcase an image done with the embossed resist technique.  Various sized brads will enhance the details of the stamped image.

All of the work with this card will be done with one stamp pad - just using the ink in different ways.

If you wish to use a different color combination, that can be done.  Other options of phrases will be available if you want to make this card into something other than sympathy.

Stamp Club will meet at my home on Wednesday, March 9 at 9:30.  As always, bring a sack lunch and extend your time to work on your own projects with my stamps!

Cost for completing these 3 cards is $15 - and all materials are included, except your adhesive.  If you wish to make additional cards, please let me know in advance so I can have the materials ready for you.  Additional cards will be $1 each.

February 3, 2011
Our focus is on special inking techniques – specifically with daubers and sponges.  In addition, we will do a Swinging Z-fold card for Valentine’s Day.

A stamp will be inked with daubers to allow multiple colors to be placed where you want them on the image

Clear embossing powder will be used over a previously stamped image so that the embossed image matches the ink on the rest of the card – no need to go out and buy lots of extra embossing powders

An embossed sheet will be inked with daubers to bring out the image

A Spellbinders die will be used to cut, emboss, and then ink the embossed section with a sponge.  This cut-out will be used on the Swinging Z-fold card!

We will be making three cards, and the cost will be $15.
If you wish to make additional of any of the cards,
the materials will be $1 for each card.
As always, you only need to bring your basic supplies -
scissors and adhesive - and everything else will be provided.

CHRISTMAS CARDS - PART 2

This class will meet on Thursday, November 4 and will include 3 Christmas cards, a card storage pouch, and a clear Thanksgiving card.  Because of the specialty materials used in this class, the cost will be $20, but will again include all of the materials to make all of the projects.  You only need to bring your adhesive.  Click on each photo to see more detail.

The wreath hangs over an open window in the front of the card.

A bird's-eye view of the clear Thanksgiving card!

The pouch for storing or gifting cards!  Can be made in any design to match your cards.

CHRISTMAS CARDS - PART 1

This class will meet on either Thursday September 16 or Tuesday October 5.  Cost is $15 and will include all materials to make the 3 cards and at least 6 gift tags.  Contact me at scrappingailaz@gmail.com for the specifics of class location.

Each card is made with dimension - the tree is popping out from the back page through the opening in the front of the card, the wreath is popped up over the layers of color, and the holly card extends beyond the card itself.  All cards are embossed and embellished with "sparkle."  The gift tags are embellished with gemstones and glitter glue.
